Printable New Jersey (NJ) state income tax form NJ-1040 must be postmarked by April 17, 2018 in order to avoid penalties and late fees. Printable New Jersey state tax forms for the current tax year will be based on income earned between January 1, 2017 through December 31, 2017. New Jersey State Income Tax Refund Status

To check the status of your NJ-1040 income tax refund online, visit the State of New Jersey Division of Taxation website and use their Check Your Refund service. State of New Jersey Division of Taxation asks that you wait 10 days before checking the status of an electronically filed return and 12 weeks for a mailed in paper return.

To check the status of your New Jersey income tax refund for 2017 you will need the following information:

  • Social Security Number
  • Amount of your refund

The requested information must match what was submitted on your New Jersey NJ-1040 state income tax forms for the current year. To look up prior year refunds, you will need to contact the State of New Jersey Division of Taxation service center by phone or mail.
