State income tax form preparation begins with the completion of your federal tax forms. Most state tax forms will refer to the income, adjustments and credit amounts entered on your federal tax forms. If you have not done so already, please begin by printing your federal Form 1040EZ, Form 1040A, or Form 1040.
2017 State Income Tax Forms and instructions will publish throughout December 2017. Some states will delay publishing until late January 2018. The PDF links will display 2016 state income tax forms and instructions until they are published.

For most state income tax payers, your printable 2017 state income tax forms must be postmarked by April 17, 2018. You will be paying state income tax based on the tax year January 1, 2017 through December 31, 2017. Some state income tax forms are not due until later, April 30, 2018, for example. All of the state income tax forms for 2017 are in PDF file format. Each state revenue department expect your 2017 tax forms to be printed on high quality printers. Today's laser and ink jet printers are generally acceptable. You can print your 2017 state tax forms using Standard mode with the Black and White or Grayscale Printing preferences set. No color printing is generally required, however, we recommend that you read the first few pages of any Form 1040, Form 1040A or Form 1040EZ instructions booklet for updates regarding the printing of your federal and state tax forms.
