Iowa Income Tax Rate 2016 - 2017

Iowa state income tax rate table for the 2016 - 2017 filing season has nine income tax brackets with IA tax rates of 0.36%, 0.72%, 2.43%, 4.5%, 6.12%, 6.48%, 6.8%, 7.92% and 8.98% for Single, Married Filing Jointly, Married Filing Separately, and Head of Household statuses. The Iowa tax rate and tax brackets are unchanged from last year. Iowa income tax rate and tax brackets shown in the table below are based on income earned between January 1, 2016 through December 31, 2016.

  • Tax rate of 6.12% on taxable income between $13,987 and $23,310.
  • Tax rate of 6.48% on taxable income between $23,311 and $31,080.
  • Tax rate of 6.80% on taxable income between $31,081 and $46,620.
  • Tax rate of 7.92% on taxable income between $46,621 and $69,930.
  • Tax rate of 8.98% on taxable income over $69,930.

For the Single, Married Filing Jointly, Married Filing Separately, and Head of Household filing statuses, the IA tax rates remain the same.
