Printable Pennsylvania (PA) state income tax form PA-40 must be postmarked by April 18, 2017 in order to avoid penalties and late fees. Printable Pennsylvania state tax forms for the current tax year will be based on income earned between January 1, 2016 through December 31, 2016. The Pennsylvania income tax rate for 2016 is a flat 3.07%. The state tax rate is displayed on tax form PA-40 and also inside the PA-40 instructions booklet.

The Pennsylvania state revenue department will expect your 2016 income tax forms to be printed on high quality printers. Today's laser, bubble-jet, or ink-jet printers are generally acceptable. PA-40 State Income Tax Refund Status
To check the status of your PA-40 income tax refund online, visit the Pennsylvania Revenue e-Services Center and use their where's my refund service. Pennsylvania Revenue e-Services Center asks that you wait at least eight weeks before using this tool. To retrieve the status of your PA income tax refund for 2016 you will need the following:
- Social Security Number
- Amount of your refund
The requested information must match what was submitted on your PA-40 state income tax forms for the current year. To look up a refund for a prior tax year you will need to contact the Pennsylvania Department of Revenue customer service center through the online form provided.
