Missouri State Income Tax Refund Status

To check the status of your MO-1040A short form or MO-1040 income tax refund online, visit the Missouri Department of Revenue website and use their Return Inquiry System. Missouri Department of Revenue suggests that you wait 3 days before checking the status of an electronically filed return and 8 weeks for a mailed in paper return. To retrieve the status of your MO income tax refund for 2015 you will need the following information:

  • Social Security Number
  • Filing status of return (Single, Married, etc)
  • Anticipated refund or balance due amount

The requested information must match what was submitted on your MO-1040A short form or MO-1040 state income tax forms for the current year. To look up prior year refunds, you will need to contact the Missouri Department of Revenue service center by phone or mail.
