To check the status of your MI-1040 income tax refund online, visit the Michigan Department of Treasury website and use their Where's My Refund service. Michigan Department of Treasury asks that you wait 14 days before checking the status of an electronically filed return and 6-8 weeks for a mailed in paper return. To retrieve the status of your MI income tax refund for 2014 you will need the following information:
- Social Security Number
- Tax Year
- Filing Status
- Adjusted Gross Income (AGI), Total Household Resources (THR), or Household Income (HHI)
