TaxBrain.com Sponsorship of NASCAR All Star-Challenge Puts 17-Year-Old Justin Philpott Wheel-to-Wheel with Matt Kenseth and Tony Stewart at Madison International Speedway
July 2, 2007
Tracy, California and Oregon, Wisconsin — Seventeen-year-old NASCAR rookie sensation Justin Philpott, based in Tracy, California, had a dream come true Tuesday, June 26th, when he qualified and took his place on the track with NASCAR stars Matt Kenseth and Tony Stewart.
Justin Philpott Racing's main sponsor, TaxBrain.com, co-sponsored the 100-lap All-Star Challenge, and provided the primary sponsorship for Tony Stewart's #20 Chevrolet. The event brought more than 8,000 NASCAR fans to Madison International Speedway on the outskirts of Madison, Wisconsin and was broadcast live to a regional audience. In addition to Kenseth and Stewart, the field drew Busch Series and regional Super Late Model champions from Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota and Wisconsin.
According to Craig Petz, Vice President of Petz Enterprises, Inc. (http://www.petzent.com), whose TaxBrain.com brand is America's fastest growing online tax service, “Justin's opportunity to compete against two of the sport's most visible drivers was a dream come true for the young rookie. We were fortunate to secure a competitive race car for Justin; our grateful thanks go to Todd Stapleman, the well-known Wisconsin car builder and Super Late Model competitor who provided the #77 Super Late model Chevrolet. We also appreciate the efforts of Roy Kenseth, promoter of the All-Star Challenge, who gave 110% effort to see that Justin had a competitive car, and that TaxBrain.com visibility was maximized at the event”
Roy Kenseth added, “The fact that a driver and crew came all the way from California to compete shows how fast NASCAR is growing. As America's fastest growing online tax service, TaxBrain.com's co-sponsorship, along with First Supply and Capital City Harley-Davidson, offered a great opportunity to generate visibility in this dynamic market”
“Justin not only got an on-the-job education of running with the best drivers, he was solidly in the running at lap 88 when he had to retire due to oil pressure problems,” Mr. Petz reported. “Matt Kenseth, driving on his home track, dominated the competition and coasted to a win, while Tony Stewart came in 7th in the field of 36 cars. Justin qualified in 29th place, only 15 hundredths of a second behind Tony Stewart”
“It's a privilege for my family and our sponsors to have this opportunity to run with two of the biggest names in NASCAR and Super Late Model racing, something I've dreamed about since my first go-kart ride,” Justin said.
Justin was catapulted into the spotlight last August when his racecar, a Western Late Model Chevy Monte Carlo SS, was “stolen” during a publicity stunt staged by his primary sponsor, TaxBrain.com®. The alleged “theft” was inadvertently aired as a real news story and instantly became an Internet viral video darling. The viral campaign featuring Justin's video was recently selected as a Top 10 Viral Marketing Campaign for 2007, by leading online marketing industry voice MarketingSherpa.
Justin Philpott Racing is competing in the 2007 Whelen All-America Series at northern California tracks, including Altamont Motorsports Park, Madera Speedway, and All-American Speedway, Roseville.
